TOP 10 WHITE NBA PLAYERS OF ALL TIME.

This is a list of the all time great white players that have blessed the hardwood. They were not all known for there thunderous dunks, unnecessary crossovers, between the legs dribbles, fading away on open jump shots, wearing gangster chains or having braids. They were however remembered for being gentleman of the game, true legends by playing the game the right way. Making the right play, keeping there head in clutch situations, wearing appropriate clothing, the extra pass to an open team mate, scoring points but understanding that it is a team sport. White players quite often give up the stardom to the blacker brethren but more often than not the white role player is called in to make the big play or hit the clutch free throws.

Almost every great team has had white men that have come up big down the stretch, yet they are still humble and dedicate the win to the team over personal fame. This list is not about role playing white men, it is about the great white men that have ruled and rule the hardwood. Remember this is my opinion so whatever you may think about the list is your opinion not mine. So enjoy it and embrace the white superstars that rule the game.

get a beer, get out the sports goggles, knee high socks and some short shorts and enjoy.

10. Chris Mullin

Chris Mullin was a gym rat. a hard working, versatile player that drew comparisons to Larry Bird. His ability to score the ball in the prime of his career was exceptional averaging over 25 points a game multiple seasons. Chris has been voted into the basketball HOF this season.

9. Jason Kidd

Jason Kidd has never been the greatest scorer, he has however been the greatest rebounding point guard of all time, he has notched up over 100 triple doubles (second all-time). Not being the greatest scorer has not stopped Jason Kidd coming through big in crunch time, his ability to make the right play helped lead the nets to consecutive finals appearances in the early 00's. Jason Kidd is heading to the HOF when he retires.

8. Steve Nash

Arguably the greatest shooter in the history of the NBA with constant averages of 50-40-90(field goal- 3pt- free throw). Steve Nash uses is brain more than athletic ability to make good passes and score the ball, he is an amazing clutch performer. Once retired Steve Nash is likely to move up this list. Steve Nash will also be a HOFer.

6. George Mikan,

George Mikan is the original NBA superstar, quite literally a man among giants. Mikan was the first master of the sky hook and blocked shot. His stature over the smaller players gave him a huge advantage and allowed him to dominate in all areas of the game. George Mikan is a HOFer

5. Bob Cousy

Bob Cousy is perhaps the reason showmanship is so highly appreciated in the modern game. Is uncanny ability to trick an opponent and finish a play helped develop the modern basketball era. More importantly his desire to win was evident as he won multiple titles as a member of the Boston Celtics dynasty. The showmanship helped Cousy become enshrined in the HOF.

4. Dirk Nowitzki

Dirks height and skill set make him the greatest European NBA baller of all time. The way he puts the ball in the hoop is top 5 in the league, he comes through in the clutch time after time. This scoring ability has helped the Dallas Mavericks to 10 straight 50 win seasons. Dirk will be a hall of famer when its all said and done.

3. John Stockton

John Stockton leads the NBA in steals and assists, he was a true point guard, Stockton was enshrined in to the basketball hall of fame last year. Stockton played his entire career for the Utah Jazz. Stocktons ability to make the right play was ridiculous. He is in my opinion the greatest point guard to ever play the game. He may have never won a championship but was most definitely a champion in the way he patrolled and owned the hardwood.

2. Jerry West

Jerry West defines the NBA, ferocious defence, confidence, great jump shot, clutch, you name it he could do it. Jerry West to some people is the definition of clutch. At one point in his career he hit a near full court shot to send the game into it third overtime. There is a reason this man is the NBA logo and has a place in the HOF.

1. Larry Bird

Larry Bird is like the guy no one likes but every one wants to know him and be on his team so they don’t lose. Larry Bird was hands down a winner, he would fight you if that is what it took. Larry is definitely not the most athletic player but so intelligent and understood the game better than anyone. This helped him make the right plays, especially at the end of ball games when he would simply dominate. Larry Bird is in the HOF and is considered by some the greatest player ever, so it was an easy choice choosing the greatest white player of all time.
